I'm shaking things up a bit here at The Task Wrangler. Summer is coming to an end, and so are my summer hours. My new office contact hours are now listed on the home page. Other changes to the front page include a new section featuring my latest design projects and a calculator that makes it easy to see exactly how cost effective a virtual assistant is compared to hiring full-time staff.
The most significant change regular visitors might notice is that I've raised my rates. I previously offered rates as low as I could get away with to help build a foundation for my business, but now that foundation is soundly laid. In order to stay in business and keep growing, I have to bump my fees up to a competitive professional level.
The good news for my current clients is that, to show my gratitude for being among my first, you are subject to my "Foundation Discount," meaning that this rate change DOES NOT affect you. It is, however, something to keep in mind when making referrals.
The good news for those considering my services is that you have the option to purchase a pre-paid retainer package, which includes ALL of my advertised services at a flat fee of only $25 per hour. Better yet, pre-pay for 20 hours or more and that flat fee drops to a mere $20 per hour! And for anyone who only needs help starting or customizing a blog, I now have money-saving blog packages available.
And that's not all. In the coming weeks look for new, informative features and more regular blog updates. A referral incentive program is also in the works. Watch this space for more exciting and new changes to be announced!
I've been so busy lately with new projects that I forgot to blog about them. I did at least remember to add them to my portfolio, but for any subscribers out there who are too busy to check the web site (which I imagine is probably most of you), here is what I've been working on lately:
I just completed and launched this web site overhaul for wedding and portrait photographer Liz Huckleby. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, but the important thing is that she's happy with it. I'm just grateful to have found out about Wix in time for this project, because it was a perfect match for what she wanted her site to be.
Jen was impressed enough with the Twitter widget I customized for my personal web page to hire me to do one for hers. She was already using a ready-made Wordpress template that she was quite happy with, so I designed the widget to blend in and look like it was part of the template to begin with. Jen and I were both quite pleased with the result.
My personal home page was way overdue for an overhaul. I designed the layout in GIMP, using a color pallette I found on COLOURlovers.com, then cut it up and hand-coded it for use with Blogspot's hosting platorm. I really like how it turned out.
Last but not least is my ongoing copywriting project as a weekly blogger for Lighting By Lux. My posts on the subject of home lighting appear there every Tuesday.
